Wath Comprehensive School is an extremely popular 11-18 school with almost 1800 students on roll, including around 300 in the Sixth Form.
Despite being a large school, we pride ourselves on being a caring and welcoming community with clearly defined aims and values. It is our mission that all our students leave us ‘Able, Active and Qualified’ as a result of high quality learning and an extensive range of extra-curricular opportunities.
A Message From Our Headteacher
Wath Comprehensive School enjoys a long and successful reputation, of over 85 years standing, for its academic standards and traditional values. We work hard to create a caring and disciplined school full of energy, talent and enthusiasm. These qualities are reflected in our academic record and by the high proportion of our students who enter the sixth form and go on to university.
As a school we want everyone to feel they have a part to play; that they are listened to and respected. We place great importance on the development of the individual through the provision of a broad and balanced curriculum and a rich and varied programme of extra-curricular activities. This is an exciting time for a school which is popular and regularly oversubscribed.
The school is committed to continuous improvement and to achieving excellence in all that we do. We celebrate achievement, value individuals and respect diversity. We take seriously our responsibility to the local community in which we are located as well as to the global community to which we all belong.
