Here at Wath Comprehensive School we have a dedicated careers team providing support and guidance for all students from Year 7 though to Year 13.

Mrs Laite and Mrs Middleton are Level 6 qualified Careers advisers here to implement careers lessons and activities such as work shadowing day, mock interview days, employer engagement and work experience. We are currently supporting the Higher Education Progression Partnership South Yorkshire (HeppSY+) project and are working in partnership with Sheffield Hallam University and the University of Sheffield to support and increase the number of students accessing Higher Education. Mr Shaw, Associate Senior Leader, oversees the careers team.

Mr Ghasemi started as a Graduate Intern at Wath Comprehensive back in November 2017 working as a Higher Education Engagement Assistant for HeppSY+. His main objective is to assist in the organisation, coordination and delivery of relevant activities to students and to help increase the numbers of individuals progressing in to higher education. You can find out more in the Higher Education Section.

Mrs Laite, Mrs Middleton and Mr Ghasemi are based in the school library and are more than happy to be contacted in school if any further information is required and to help where possible. Our careers policy is available to download in the Policies section of our website.

CYH (part of the National Careers Service Yorkshire & Humber) have created a guide which covers a range of established and new job sectors and useful links and information about how to develop your skills, find a career that suits you and 'Shape Your Future'. You can download that guide here.

There's a wealth of careers information available online. We've picked some of the good bits and organised it into the categories below.

We are currently working with a company called Future First to build our Alumni community in order to  and engage with ex-students and to raise aspirations of current students. We hope that former students will help us and support activities in school such as talks, work place visits, work experience and careers fairs. You can click the link below to sign-up.
