Some young people struggle with their sexual identity and this can be a difficult and frightening time. They can feel unsure and overwhelmed and feelings that can cause them to feel un-happy, confused and sad. They can find themselves struggling with their mental health as a result.
If you are concerned about your son / daughter regarding their sexual identity and feel they would benefit from addition support, you can self-refer them to Rotherham LGBT sevice (contact details at the bottom of the page). Workers from this service can support your child in dealing with their feelings.
If you wish to discuss your concerns with school, please contact Mrs E King, Assistant to the Designated Safeguarding officer and Mental Health Practitioner on (01709) 760222, who can off support to the student and parent / carer.
