SCHOOL LIBRARY

Mrs Frith and Mrs Laite offer you a warm welcome to Wath Academy Library, which is located on the first floor, above Social Area 2. The Library provides a friendly space for students to read, do homework and take part in enrichment activities, many of which are student-led. The Library is open to all year groups at break and lunchtime, and homework club is offered after school from 2.50pm-3.50pm every day. IT and printing facilities are provided.

All students have a library account, meaning they can borrow books. The library has a stock of over 3000 fiction and non-fiction books which are regularly updated according to popularity and student requests. Books cater for a range of abilities and interests, whilst covering a variety of themes, ensuring that all students are represented and diversity is celebrated. In addition, the library has subscriptions to a daily newspaper and a number of magazines.

Students can use the library management system, Accessit, to search the library database, this can be accessed via the school Learning Platform. eBooks are available via the “ePlatform by Wheelers” app, meaning students can read books digitally on an electronic device. Please see the “how to borrow an eBook guide” at the bottom of the page for further information.

Students can also volunteer to become Student Librarians, giving them the opportunity to develop their skills and get to know other students.
